Update for Gamma Epsilon Alumni
This past semester, we achieved a house GPA of 3.25, which was better than the All-Greek, All-Fraternity, All-University, and All-Men averages. We are aggressively working on ways to continually improve our academic culture within the house, including constitutional accountability for our active members and a scholarship program that pairs mentors with pledging members in similar majors. This past year we made positive improvement in instituting a new 2.65 GPA requirement for all new members to become active brothers, and we are continually seeking new ways of providing a positive scholastic culture with our pledging members in order to achieve successful transitioning to college and developing beneficial academic habits for the rest of their college career.
The men of Beta Theta Pi have won the past 10 consecutive intramural championships, and this year are currently in the lead to win yet another championship in Kansas State intramurals. It is great to see the competitive spirits and desire to compete against among our fellow classmates in various sports. This year we have won fraternity divisions in: flag football, soccer, 6 foot and under one on one basket winner, 6' and over one on one basketball winner, 1st place in doubles volleyball, first place in the fraternity swim meet, first place in the intramural golf tournament, first place in the 3 point shoot out, first place in the fraternity darts tournament and first place in the fraternity punt pass and kick competition.
The recruitment season of 2015 is in full swing for Gamma Epsilon. The chapter plans on filling 28 spots for the graduating class of 2019. Uniform bidding standards in the four categories of scholarship, athletics, community service, and leadership experience will help streamline the recruitment process and facilitate another successful year for the men at 500 Sunset.
